An unstructured life with a plot that goes nowhere

A sampling of ironic shade by the wry wraith An odyssey on the razor’s edge of vacuity and acuity Man created god, man killed god, man created machine, machine will kill man.  Recollections of certain facts were not in conformity with objective reality.  As empires burn, some fiddle, others golf Flawed beyond redemption Fear prolixity singularity Cut artificial nonsense, embrace real intelligence Beyond buzzwords, just dangerous nonsense Reject racism, seek justice In the United States, anything is for sale; except honor, integrity, and truth, those things no longer hold value here. Subsistence is inexistence; the fine line between stable poverty and grinding poverty always bleeds out.  All of the guilt with no hope of redemption.  Equal treatment in an unequal society equates to inequality.  What do you get when you take the child of an emotionally and intellectually abandoned , poor single mother; ship him off to boarding school at 13; and turn him loose...

Basic Male Emulates Serena Joy?

Here's an interesting catch from the Daily Beast through Yahoo! News ! The full image, from the social media entity formerly known as twitter, displays the archetypal "basic white male," a specimen so utterly unremarkable that his most distinguishing feature is the curious absence of a fully formed pinky. One can only imagine the scandalous origins of this digit's departure. Perhaps a clandestine rendezvous with a rogue paper shredder? A daring escape from a particularly aggressive cuticle? And the Serena Joy treatment? What irony! To even suggest this paragon of intellectual curiosity might have stumbled upon, let alone read, a Bible verse is simply delightful. Far more likely this individual's literary pursuits extend to the back of a cereal box, maybe a particularly insightful tweet or "truth." The notion of him grappling with actual words, arranged in sentences, and forming paragraphs. This Ken doll reject can only dream of becoming a next-level Jeth...

Kafka’s Metamorphosis

The unsettling dawn breaks, not with the familiar clatter of the tram, but with an alien weight and a hard, chitinous shell. Gregor Samsa, a dutiful traveling salesman, awakens to find himself irrevocably altered, transformed into a monstrous insect. His initial terror is not of his grotesque form, but of the missed train, the looming financial ruin that threatens his family. This immediate concern, this clinging to the mundane in the face of the absurd, sets the tone for a chilling exploration of human frailty. Gregor's transformation, a physical manifestation of his emotional alienation, throws his family into disarray. The comfortable facade of their lives crumbles, revealing the fragile dependence they had upon him. Initially, his sister, Grete, driven by a flicker of compassion, tends to his needs, but as his insect form becomes increasingly repulsive, her sympathy wanes, replaced by a growing disgust. His parents, once dependent on his income, are forced to confront their o...

A New National Anthem?

On March 3, 1931, President Herbert Hoover signed a bill designating The Star-Spangled Banner  as the national anthem of the United States. However, this anthem presents several challenges. Its soaring melody is notoriously difficult to sing, which excludes many voices from full participation. Additionally, its lyrics, written during the War of 1812, reflect a bygone era and struggle to resonate with the diverse experiences of modern Americans. As an alternative, the song Idiot Country by the electronic music duo of Bernard Sumner (of Joy Division and New Order) and Johnny Marr (of The Smiths, as well as The Pretenders and The The) could serve as the new U.S. national anthem. Released in 1991, this track is a powerful blend of industrial, techno, and rock music, offering a unique and poignant reflection on the United States. Although Sumner is not widely recognized for his singing talent, his distinctive vocal style is an essential part of New Order's identity and influe...

Governmental Disruption

It is an absolute travesty that an unelected person has so much  influence on the effective flow of our government. Once again, the chief disruptor Musk was  not elected. He was not appointed by the executive nor confirmed by  the Senate to hold a position of governmental authority. He has no  interest in public service. There is no mechanism to hold him  accountable for his interference in public life and service. His only  qualification is his wealth and his ability to manipulate the  president of the United States. The embarrassment of the Trump  presidency has evolved into a dire existential battle. I fear all  Americans will pay the price, and our country will never recover.

Welcome to Bromerica

As artificial intelligence rapidly progresses, it is essential to critically examine the relationship between intellectual property rights and technological innovation. A balanced approach can promote creativity while ensuring that the legal framework effectively supports and protects the rights of innovators in this evolving landscape. In assessing the complexities of legal protections, it is important to explore the constitutional basis for intellectual property rights, which underpins and justifies their significance in fostering innovation and creativity. Additionally, the role of AI in this context is becoming increasingly vital. AI technologies are transforming how creative works are produced and raising new questions about ownership and rights. As AI systems generate content and inventions, the traditional frameworks of intellectual property must adapt to address the challenges posed by these advancements, ensuring that the balance between encouraging innovation and protect...
